* I had the honor of battling against Brendon throughout college... we were in the same conference and ran similar events.  Since college, I've seen him move up in distance with great success (especially at the marathon and 10k distances).  Post collegiately, we were teammates on Team Good River as well as on the World Record 24-hour treadmill team.

I am looking forward to running under his direction... one, because he has run 2:23 before and so he has been where I would like to get - and two, because he has first hand knowledge of my strengths and weaknesses as a runner / racer from our many encounters over the years.

* With no long run logged yesterday / last week, Fredo and I hit the road today for what was supposed to be 20 miles, but ended up being 21.  The distance however proved to be the easiest part of this run... as the conditions were miserable.

Temperature was 21*, wind chill was 6*, footing was horrible - due to the snow that has been falling since yesterday evening and has yet to stop.

However, the route we ran added insult to injury... you can see the map and run stats here.  This route was one of our few options due to the amount of snow, and the need for at least semi-plowed roads... and in good weather and early in the morning with no traffic, this route may actually be manageable.  But rest assured, I will never know, as I have zero plans of ever running this God forsaken route ever again!

On the flip side, it is nice to start the training week off with 21 miles in the log.

* Timothy
