26.2 in pics & the Rocket

Here are 2 pics from this past weekend's Richmond Marathon...

* Copped a pair of Adidas AdiZero Rockets yesterday, courtesy of Second Sole Rocky River.  I have not tried them out yet... that will happen tomorrow afternoon, but my initial thoughts are they are the best flat I've ever slide my foot into.

High praise despite not running in them yet? Yes... but the Adidas AdiZero PR is my favorite flat of all time and the Rocket seems to be everything the PR is, BUT with about an ounce more cushioning and structure.

I have raced all distances in the PR (4.6 ounces)... from 5k to marathon, and will continue to do so - as it's the ultimate race day flat.  But I tend to shy away from doing workouts in it outside of 'faster stuff' due to it's minimalist nature.

That's where the Rocket fits the bill. It weighs in a bit heavier, but I would race a 5k and up in it without hesitation... but based on how it is built, I will also wear the Rocket for any and all types of workouts - from long tempos to the shorter stuff - as it is a bit more versatile than the PR on that front.

I'm looking forward to my first spin in them... I'll report back with results - hopefully it lives up to the hype.
