Phone pics...

Here are a few random pics that I've taken with my phone over the last few days...
The first is Mr. Bigglesworth at the playgound. The second is Head 'striking a pose' on top the Mapleside hill. And the third is from tonight... 'The King' from the movie Cars is staying at my hotel in Nashville - TJ would love this.
* As noted, I am in Nashville tonight... and was in Knoxville last night. I got some miles in at Melton Lake this evening and between 20 miles yesterday, a long day of travel, and the terrain... my legs were cooked.
I'm already looking forward to a workout with Head on Thursday and then my weekly 1k repeats on Friday. Two weeks ago I did 4, last week I did 5 (averaging 16 seconds faster than previous week) - this week, I'm aiming for 6, and hopefully a bit better on the average once again as well.
The road loop I am doing these repeats on is ideal for the strength I want to focus on building... which means, it's pretty tough. The segment of the loop from 300m to 650m is a significant climb, which really provides a great stimulus as I continue to work towards a respectable fitness level.
Ultimately, by mid-December, I hope to run 8-10 of these in a 3:07-3:10 average. If I can do that... it will translate well to when I transition this workout to the track come January and start focusing on 70-72 second quarter rhythm for 1ks.
Right now the recovery is a 1:00 shuffle/jog. That is the one aspect that will remain constant as the volume and intensity increase.
Should be educational, come late winter, to review the progression of this workout and see how it directly correlates to the development of my fitness level.
