The evening's workout was - 6 x 1k with 1:00 shuffle recovery, to continue with the pattern of the last two weeks (4 x 1k and 5 x 1k). It's interesting to see how the body adapts week to week, and fairly quickly. Tonight I did 6 and averaged 3:25. Last week I did 5 and averaged 3:29, and the week before that, 4 in an average of 3:46.
* I do these 1k repeats on a road loop at the Berea Falls entrance to the MetroParks (Rocky River Reservation). For the third week in a row, I'm immersed in the smell of weed during my workout. I'm glad that the Park Rangers will pull someone over for going 32 in a 30, but they won't stop by the Berea Falls parking lot any given night of the week and bust some potheads.
* Tomorrow I will be rolling with Head for one of her final workouts heading into Richmond. With just over 2 weeks to go, she will have 3 workouts remaining, including tomorrow. On tap, 2 mile warmup, 8 miles at MP pace, and a 1 mile cooldown. Her injury that sidelined her a few weeks back for the Columbus Half has improved... still not ideal to miss crucial time like she did, but she's back rolling and confident as November 14th closes in.
* Sugoi has launched a compression line of performance apparel labeled as 'Piston'... so for this evening's workout I rocked the Piston 200 Compression Half-tights, and it's safe to say this is the best half-tight I have ever run in. Hands down.
Click on 'Piston' above and check out the entire Piston line. I would highly recommend you give this material a try... great stuff from Sugoi.

* I had a very productive trip to Tennessee this week. I spent time in both Knoxville and Nashville before heading back north. Our fiscal year ends this week, so things are turned up a notch as we close the books on 2009. Overall, it was another successful year from CardPak... a lot to be said about that considering the economy's plight.
